New Project: Writing a fairy tale (fiction)
I had a concept for this since last April but haven’t developed the idea much. Because I was afraid and doubted myself.
“Can I write fiction in English? I’ve never written one.”
Then, I serendipitously met Knut, the Emmy winner, a prolific writer from Norway, and amazing human who happened to be my neighbor in Mexico. We instantly connected and soon became inseparable.
Knut and I chatted our nights away. I was amazed by the similarities between the enneagram that I used in coaching and a character model that Knut uses based on nine major fears and motivations that drive human behaviors. “Fears and motivations are something I know pretty well. I am not starting from scratch.” I felt a bit more confident. We decided to work together on this in the summer when I visit him in Norway.
My intention is to provide a glimpse of what I believe life is really about: Life is a play and a game. Everyone of us chooses to play different roles in this play. Sometimes people are so attached to that role, thinking they ARE that role In order to play that role in the most skillful way, one must also know the shadow side of the role. How to win this game? It is about overcoming fear and embodying the higher truth.
This story is based on my spirituality largely based on Buddhism. I am inspired by the Egyptian ancient mythology that I saw in Egypt. With that, I want to explore the key concepts that people have limiting beliefs about: sex, power, and money.
My message is said many times by many teachers, just to name a few, Michael Singer, Ram Dass, Ken Wilber, Eckhart Tolle, and even Buddha. So why do I want to write about this again? It is because I want to create a story that is easily accessible to everyone. Ideally, I would like to create a movie or TV show because I know those contents reach wider audiences, and I hope to inspire people to be courageous and joyful.
It story may or may not be published. It may be horrible. None of these matters. What matters is that I am acting out of love. From the place of love, I believe in myself and what I can create. Whatever happens, I trust I could hold that result. Most importantly, I am doing this because of my love for writing, for fun, and for humanity.
My plan is to complete the character development and plot outline by the end of June. Yes, heads down, 100% focus on creation. Returning from the Mexican jungle and from a life-changing time in the middle east, my cup is so full that I am ready to live and breathe authentic storytelling in 2023.
