On Relationship

What is a relationship?

Especially when it involves the heart.

Is it anything but a kaleidoscope, constantly reflecting the parts of ourselves that most want our attention?

Is it anything but an invitation to notice where we protect ourselves, where we long to be chosen, where we struggle to trust?

Is it anything but a journey back to ourselves?

A place to discover what we need, what we fear, what we desire — and who we are in the presence of another?

Is it anything but an opportunity to be real with our hearts, over and over again?

And if we weren't so blinded by that irresistible, tantalizing allure in the beginning, would any of us willingly sign up for everything that love eventually asks us to see?
